Road and pavement gritting from Highways....
Due to time and cost, we can't grit all of Norfolk's road network (each gritting run costs approximately £40,000).
We treat approximately 2,200 miles (3,500km), which is 34% of the County's total network of 6,125 miles (9,857km) on A, B and some C class roads, commuter and major bus routes and, as far as is possible, one route into all villages.
Some pavements in the pedestrian areas of central King's Lynn, central Great Yarmouth and central Norwich are also treated as a priority.

From Upwell Parish Council
Upwell Cemetery
With immediate effect U.P.C. regrets that, of necessity, Upwell Cemetery is now closed for burials to non-parishioners. This is because there are very few burial plots left. There are still cremation plots available.
Burial plots can no longer be reserved in advance and will only be allocated through a funeral director.
Upwell Parish Council apologise for any distress this may cause. For some time Council have been working with the Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk to extend the cemetery into the allotment land but this is a long process. If successful the Council will reconsider offering burial rights to non-parishioners.
